Description
An ancient mariner would have worn such a pendant to appease the gods when voyaging at sea. This beautiful piece of light teal blue sea glass was found on Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica. It has a slight ridge that indicates it was a bottle bottom, which may have been produced in the 1800s through the mid 1900s to hold mineral water or baking soda. The glass is wrapped in a bronze wire and hangs from a revolving bail so either side can be displayed while wearing.
